Memorandum of Understanding Signed between CO “100% LIFE” and the Representation of the Danish Refugee Council in Ukraine

CO “100% LIFE” and the Representation of the Danish Refugee Council in Ukraine have signed a Memorandum of Understanding, as both partners place significant emphasis on human rights activities.

Since 2018, CO “100% LIFE” has been implementing a project aimed at establishing mechanisms for legal protection of the rights of people living with HIV/AIDS, those with tuberculosis (TB), and representatives of key populations at risk of HIV infection, funded by the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.

Within the framework of this project, beneficiaries are able to receive qualified legal consultations, legal assistance in pre-trial matters concerning the protection of violated rights in state and local government authorities, enterprises, organizations, institutions of all forms of ownership and subordination, as well as representation by lawyers in strategic court cases in national courts and the European Court of Human Rights.

The project continues to be implemented, and members of the project’s target group will be able to receive free legal assistance in 2025.

Since 2020, the CO “100% LIFE” website and various messaging platforms (Viber, Telegram, Facebook Messenger) have featured a chatbot platform for providing legal consultations, “Yur.bot 100% LIFE” (“Yurbot”). It was developed to deliver helpful information to users who need guidance on issues related to HIV, tuberculosis, and hepatitis. Yurbot includes a section with answers to approximately 140 of the most frequently asked questions, grouped into 10 categories:

  • HIV+
  • Tuberculosis (TB)
  • Discrimination
  • Martial Law
  • Social Issues
  • Personal Life
  • Pregnant Women and New Mothers
  • Opioid Substitution Therapy (OST)
  • How to Access HIV Treatment
  • Viral Hepatitis

Yurbot also has a function that allows users to receive information about the nearest legal aid office offering free consultations and the nearest social organization providing services to people living with HIV. To use this feature, the user is prompted to enter their city or current location. Yurbot analyzes the entered data and provides information about the nearest legal aid office or social organization, including the address and contact details.

CO “100% LIFE” continues to support the operation of Yurbot, which is a convenient and fast tool for obtaining useful legal and medical information anywhere and anytime, as long as the user has access to a mobile phone or computer.

For its part, the Representation of the Danish Refugee Council in Ukraine is implementing the “PravoVsim” project—a modern digital platform that provides access to free legal aid for all citizens, especially those who find themselves in difficult life circumstances. “We understand how important it is to receive timely, qualified support on legal matters, so we offer a wide range of services to help everyone navigate complex legal situations,” emphasize the project team specialists. “Our mission is to ensure that citizens can quickly and conveniently receive the legal support they need at any time without leaving their homes.”

Experienced lawyers work on the platform, ready to provide consultations online through web resources or using various communication tools—including phone calls, video calls, chat, and other channels convenient for beneficiaries: “We aim to ensure complete comfort for users of the platform by giving them the option to choose the most convenient way to receive consultations.”

“PravoVsim” provides consultations enabling high-quality legal assistance both to citizens in Ukraine and to Ukrainians abroad who have left the country for various reasons. The platform plays an especially crucial role for those who were forced to leave Ukraine due to armed conflict, as many legal issues in such situations require urgent resolution.

Thus, “PravoVsim” is an important resource for citizens who need legal support: “We strive to be a reliable partner in resolving legal problems, ensuring high-quality and prompt assistance to all who need it,” say the platform’s experts.

The partners plan to join forces to raise people’s awareness of their rights, provide legal support to those who wish to defend their rights, and contribute to building a rule-of-law state in Ukraine.
