The charitable organisation ‘Network 100 Percent Life. Zaporizhia’ began its activities as a self-help group called ‘Avangard’. In September 2004, seven people affected by HIV/AIDS came together to improve the quality of life of HIV-positive people by providing comprehensive psychosocial support and fostering a positive attitude towards HIV/AIDS in society. In July 2005, the initiative group was officially registered and acquired the status of the Zaporizhzhia regional branch of the All-Ukrainian charitable organisation ‘All-Ukrainian Network of People Living with HIV/AIDS’. On 30 December 2016, by decision of the general meeting, the organisation was renamed the Charitable Organisation ‘Network 100 Percent Life. Zaporizhzhia’.
The organisation has a clear management system in accordance with its Statute. The main governing body of the organisation is the General Meeting of Members, followed by the members of the Board, the Chair of the Board and the Supervisory Board. The organisation employs a professional, motivated team (more than 160 people, including 32 full-time staff).
In May 2016, strategic planning for 2017–2021 was carried out. The organisation’s mission was updated and a decision was made to amend the Statute in order to expand the organisation’s activities and rename it.
Over 12 years of activity, the Organisation has implemented more than 25 projects aimed at HIV and STI prevention among vulnerable populations, care and support, and building adherence and continuity of treatment. The organisation has extensive experience in project implementation, financial management, and compliance with the procedures and requirements of the Global Fund and other international donors.
The head of the organisation and the deputy head are members of the coordination council on socially dangerous diseases at the Zaporizhzhia Regional Administration, and the head of the organisation is the deputy chair of the coordination council. The deputy head of the organisation is a member of the Public Council at the City Executive Committee. The deputy head is the chair of the Public Council at the Zaporizhzhia City Centre for Social Services for Families, Children and Youth.
The organisation submits proposals to regional programmes during their development:
1. proposals were included in the development and approval of the targeted social programme to combat tuberculosis for 2012–2016 in the Zaporizhzhia region,
2. proposals were taken into account in the development and approval of the Targeted Social Programme to Combat HIV/AIDS in the Zaporizhzhia region for 2014-2018 – rehabilitation of HIV-positive children, campaigns, for World AIDS Day, harm reduction measures, and care and support for PLHIV (adults, children).
In addition, over the past four years, the organisation has submitted requests to the Zaporizhzhia Regional State Administration’s Department of Social Protection for the provision of social services in the Zaporizhzhia region for vulnerable groups and PLHIV, which are forwarded to the Ministry of Social Policy.
The organisation has initiated the development and signing of memoranda with NGOs, social services and medical institutions with the aim of establishing mechanisms for referral and provision of social services to HIV-positive people, people with tuberculosis and people with HIV/TB co-infection.
Representatives of the organisation actively participated in the working group under the Department of Social Protection of the Population on the reform of social services in the Zaporizhzhia region during 2013–2014.
In 2018, the organisation won a competition to attract budget funds for the provision of social services ‘Social integration and reintegration for citizens who find themselves in difficult life circumstances, homeless citizens and persons released from places of deprivation of liberty’ in 2018, which was conducted by the Department of Social Protection of the Population of the Zaporizhzhia Regional State Administration.
